About the Event

Park Cities Quail Coalition is pleased to announce that Kevin Costner will receive the 2023 T. Boone Pickens Lifetime Sportsman Award on March 25, 2023 at Armstrong Fieldhouse at SMU. Please note that this is a later date than normal and on a Saturday evening, as we selected a date that is optimal to the production schedule of our Honoree. Costner exemplifies the characteristics of a T. Boone Pickens Lifetime Sportsman Award Recipient.

Known throughout the world for his accomplishments as an actor, producer, and film director, Costner has received two Academy Awards, two Golden Globe Awards, a Primetime Emmy Award, and two Screen Actors Guild Awards. Kevin has starred in, directed, and produced some of the most iconic films of our time including:

The Untouchables, Bull Durham, Field of Dreams, Dances with Wolves, JFK, The Highwaymen, Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves, The Bodyguard, A Perfect World, Wyatt Earp, Waterworld, Tin Cup, The Postman, Message in a Bottle, No Way Out, For Love of the Game, Thirteen Days, 3000 Miles to Graceland, Dragonfly, Open Range, Rumor Has It, The Guardian, Mr. Brooks., 3 Days to Kill, McFarland, USA, Draft Day, Criminal, and many more films on the big screen. Kevin is currently producing and staring as John Dutton in the hit series Yellowstone.

Lesser known to the public is Kevin’s love of hunting, fishing, and other outdoor pursuits. When approached about the award, Kevin replied “I have always loved the outdoors and the opportunity to hunt and fish with friends and family. When we were filming Dances with Wolves in South Dakota over 30 years ago, we would take advantage of breaks to hunt and fish. My parents loved it so much they moved to South Dakota. We hunted pheasants together up to the time of my father’s death last year. I wrote a song “Last Time” to honor him. I have instilled the love of hunting in my three sons who have both completed their hunter safety program and have shared many adventures with me. I am very proud to be a sportsman and conservationist and I am honored beyond belief to join this distinguished group of sportsmen and women in receiving this award”

Table Purchase Instructions

Due to the expected demand for tables for this event, we will have a difficult time filling all table requests. We are expecting to receive more table requests than tables available, and we are restricted to a maximum occupancy, which we reached at last year’s event. We have decided to prioritize table purchases ranking table requests using the following criteria:

1)Previous Live Auction purchasers

2)Table requests at Dinner Sponsor level and above

3)Table buyers who have purchased tables the past 3 years

4)Table Buyers from last year’s event

We have attached the 2023 Table & Ticket Sponsorship form for you to complete and return to us. We will collect requests for tables until September 5 and will then allocate tables based on our ranking criteria. We will send a table confirmation and payment request once we complete the allocation of tables. You are welcome to request a 2nd table, but please understand it is highly unlikely that we will have enough tables to accommodate those requests. Please note that we have increased the Bobwhite table sponsorship to $3,500, as our costs per person have increased over the past few years. We will limit Bobwhite table sponsorships this year based on demand for higher level tables.
